Jax'S Story
Jax Jordening is a 20 year old from Conifer, Colorado. He grew up playing guitar, and listening to many different types of music with his parents and three brothers. Jax always had an ear for music, things most people didn’t notice within songs, and he always had the knack to recall random song lyrics in the middle of conversations. He was surrounded by country music growing up, from his parents he heard classics from artists such as Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Don Williams, etc. and from his brothers he heard newer songs from artists like FGL, Jason Aldean, Morgan Wallen, and others. Jax has an ear for all time periods of country, contributing to his sound. Jax was also introduced to rap and hip-hop by his older brothers, bringing to light a new world of lyricism and storytelling that captivated him. He was always listening with his eyes shut, walking through each story in his mind and feeling all of the raw emotion that the music evoked. He took this style of emotion and storytelling and applied it to his other love, country music. He began writing… At first it was jumbled messes, but as he learned to apply the words to music with his guitar, stories began to come to light. He saw it as a way to express some of the thoughts that he didn’t know how to get out any other way. It was also a way to tell stories that hit hard, and brought up real problems and struggles that people have. When Jax went through hard years, he would transfer that to the pages, and create lines that expressed his thoughts. The lines became clearer and clearer and more eloquent, and he realized that this was what he was meant to do. When he sat down to write, he could feel the presence of God with him, guiding his pen and leading his thoughts. Words and phrases would pop into his mind, and he knew that God had given him this ability, and that it would be foolish to pursue anything else. So he dropped a path leading to a Biology degree, and instead got a degree in Music Audio Technology. Jax did his first open mic in Evergreen, Colorado, and the fire only grew from there. He began networking at establishments that hosted live music, which led to him performing live around town, across the state, even across the country. The opportunities only grew with each consecutive year. Once Jax got his foot in the door, the public couldn’t deny what they heard… real music. Jax aims to reach struggling people through country music, by telling real stories and talking about real things that people deal with, and hopefully point them to The Father in the process.
